Adelphi Forty-Nine Bangkok: A Luxurious Home Away From Home

22 June 2017 Bangkok, Thailand

Beneath the dust and chaos, Bangkok is packed with things to do and places to see. The city is vibrant and colorful and has something to please all visitors. It makes sense to stay in a hotel that is away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Let me introduce Adelphi Forty-Nine; a modern apartment hotel in the heart of downtown Bangkok. Situated between trendy Thonglor and the international vibe of Prom Phong guests are spoiled for choice when it comes to entertainment, shopping and dining. I recently flew to Bangkok as a part of my recent South East Asia trip and made Adelphi Forty-Nine my base for 1 night before flying to Chiang Mai. Here's the lowdown on this Service Apartment Bangkok hotel...

At The Heart Of Bangkok

Before I even reached the entrance of the hotel Adelphi Forty-Nine had already scored one big check from me; the location. It's slap bang at the heart of downtown Bangkok. It is within easy reach of skytrain services and trendy dining, shopping and entertainment districts. Perfectly situated among shops and restaurants in the lively Thonglor neighborhood, Bangkok's golden mile.

This trendy neightborhood busting with its eclectic range of bars and restaurants, glamorous crowd and stylish boutique, Thonglor is the city’s hippest street. The neighborhood is equipped with something for every type of traveler. If I lived in Bangkok, I would want to live here! Indeed, everyone wants to be in Thonglor.

A Minimalist's Dream

I like how Adelphi Forty-Nine was built to finish. It will come as no surprise when I tell you that the minimalist yet modern interiors are to-die-for. Think modern furnishings. It has that homey vibe, yet a luxurious feel. In other words, it's a minimalist's dream.

A Home Away From Home

Adelphi Forty-Nine rooms gives a beautiful view of Bangkok where you can sit by the terrace and marvel at the sun's majestic glory as it rises from the horizon. We were lucky enough to be allocated in a One Bedroom Suite with floor-to-ceiling windows and curtains cascading down to the floor. We had a lovely view of a Thailand neighborhood. The hotel's beautiful design elements transcended into the rooms too and the accent colors of green and blue were a match-made-in-heaven.

The room has a separate living and dining area, a fully-equipped kitchen with microwave, refrigerator and stove. It provides a relaxing environment that feels just like home. I could just imagine cooking and preparing for a dinner date with the sweetheart here. Also included is a washer & dryer. And if your clothes are wrinkled, you may use the iron and ironing board provided - it felt like a luxurious home away from home.

Price: One Bedroom Suite rooms start at around $224. You may check the latest price in: Booking.com | Agoda | Hotels.com | Expedia or read reviews on TripAdvisor. For inquiries and other information, you may visit their official website. For other hotel reviews, click here.

The Rooftop Pool & The Gym

One element of the hotel that I really loved was the rooftop pool. It feels like a little secret and makes for a tranquil escape from the bustling streets of Bangkok. The pool lounge chairs and umbrellas make it more than just another rooftop pool.

Across the entrance to the pool is Adelphi Forty-Nine's fitness room, where you can shed those few extra pounds.

Dining At Azul

Azul is Adelphi Forty-Nine's signature bar and restaurant and we had the pleasure of enjoying a complimentary cocktail and a mocktail on our last night in the city. With international wine flavours, high quality alcohols and an easygoing Thai attitude, Azul promises a Bangkok bar experience (it's definitely worth coming here to have a drink or two even if you're not staying at the hotel).

Azul is also the hotel's breakfast restaurant and by day it feels light, bright and airy. There is a delicious breakfast buffet on offer alongside indulgent a la carte options including eggs, bacon, noodles, french toast, and a lot more. The breakfast experience at Azul is as delicious as the Michelin Star restaurants I've been too.

The Verdict

In my eyes, Adelphi Forty-Nine ticks every box. The location is perfect, the interiors are on point and the food is wonderful. It’s the best apartment hotel I’ve stayed in a very long time, and when I return to Bangkok in the future I would love stay here for another time again.

Perfect For

  • A central, modern, and luxurious base on the heart of Bangkok
  • A romantic city break
  • A relaxing sanctuary for a weary traveler that feels just like home

  1. Thank you so much for sharing about this hotel. I've been to Bangkok, Thailand a number of times because of work also. I usually stayed at the Radisson Hotel. But this is also a great one based on your photos and review. Would love to bring my family here with me when we go to Thailand in the future.
