No further details, just a date, a city I already knew my way around — and the name Samsung attached to it. I said yes before I'd even finished reading the email. And once I stepped back into that familiar space, I found myself watching Samsung pull back the black curtain on the most ambitious foldable lineup they've ever built: the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8, and Galaxy Z Flip8.

I have been chasing stories across many time zones for quite some time now, and I have seen my fair share of mobile devices on the way. That distinction matters more to me than it probably should. Between running client campaigns, mocking up designs, and somehow still finding time to edit travel content on the side, my work doesn't really pause just because I'm not near a laptop. Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Flip8 are now available for pre-order in the Philippines starting 22 July, in Graphite and Cream colors across the whole lineup, with Violet Shadow available exclusively for the Fold8 Ultra, Lavender for the Fold8 and Pink for the Flip8. Final Thoughts

I’ve been to many product launches over the years and most of them leave me impressed for a few hours and forgotten by the week after. But this one didn't.

Sitting in that room at White Space I found myself coming back to the same thought: "Samsung didn’t make three new phones – they answered three questions about how we actually live our lives through three unique devices."

I can't tell you yet how the Fold8 Ultra holds up after a month of overhead bins, sketchy hotel wifis, and the particular chaos of an immigration line at 2AM... that's a story I'll save for a future post, once I've actually dragged it through a few real trips. But I did walk away from White Space genuinely itching to find out, whether that means surviving a delayed connecting flight, talking my way past a tourist trap in some unfamiliar city, or just seeing if it can outlast me on a day that goes sideways. And that's not something I say lightly.

Because at the end of the day, the best technology isn't just a documentation of the journey. It disappears into the trip, allowing you to actually live it.
